It’s a question we hear quite often in our store: “What do I wear with my new cowboy boots?”
Wearing your boots with jeans is an obvious choice, but we want to spice things up a bit.
Why not show off the intricate hand-stitched tops of those new Old Gringo boots by wearing them with a skirt? Or, pair the beautiful leather of your Dan Post’s with a cute dress?
It can be difficult to imagine exactly how all this works, so we created a video for you. Michelle, our buyer and merchandiser, knows all about western fashion. She’s been in the industry for many years. In this video, she’ll give you examples of outfits you can wear with the help of employees Sarah and Angela.
Example 1: Michelle shows us that your boots can be worn with dresses! A light summer dress paired Summer dresses pair perfectly with cowboy boots!
with boots gives a little extra flair to your look. It’s perfect for many things; a stroll around town, a walk in the park, or a casual date in the evening! Accessories really brighten up the look ; a belt cinches perfectly, showing off your waist, necklaces add interest to the neckline and give a pop of color (note the turquoise), and bracelets give a little jingle! Sarah is wearing the Erin boots by Old Gringo (which are perfect as a boot for your wedding!), and Angela is wearing a pair of Dan Posts.

Example 2: The final example shows us two great looks – Sarah is wearing a flirty sundress with a pair of Old Gringo boots. This is a young, fun look that is perfect for most occasions! Angela’s casual denim skirt and western shirt is the quintessential cowgirl look!
Example 3: This example showcases a very simple look; denim is a staple in most closets. Boots look fantastic with denim, which is why they are so often paired together. Denim showcases the bright colors in your boots.
If you have bright colors in your boots, (such as the brightly stitched flowers on these Marsha boots by Old Gringo) denim is perfect to showcase them! Angela is wearing a denim shirt, and when it’s paired with a white skirt, it creates a very clean, crisp look. Sarah’s denim dress offers a beautiful silhouette that is very fun when paired with a shiny necklace.

Example 4: These looks transition into fall, where we can see that boots can be worn with long skirts as well! Long skirts are perfect with boots for fall!
Sarah’s white and turquoise combination draws attention to the colors of her Dan Post boots, and Angela’s black boots with brown stitching from Corral allow her to wear black and brown together! The bursts of turquoise from her necklace ties everything together beautifully. Outfits like these two are bit more formal; they are perfect for a night out.

Remember as fall and cooler weather approaches, that cowboy boots look great with leggings and tights. They’re a great year-round item!
