2015 Rodeo Kickoff Party

This summer’s Rodeo Kickoff Party was a success.

That’s not to brag, however, as given the circumstances it is a thing just as easily done as it is said. We are, quite simply, happy to be able to facilitate all the fun. Perhaps the primary difficulty in the affair was the possibility of rain. After all, we’ve had our fair share this season. But there was no rain, only fantastic bluebird skies and Colorado sunshine.

Take those circumstances and add some great music, some free food, the Rodeo Royalty, and lots of prize giveaways, and you simply can’t go wrong. And that’s why every year we put together this time-tested recipe for kicking off one of our favorite seasons.

The best part is that all of this fun was just a hint of what was to come. Independence Day was just around the corner, and there isn’t anything in this whole world quite like celebrating the 4th of July out here in the Wild West. But we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves. First things first, here are a few pictures of this year’s Rodeo Kickoff Party.

The best part of the day, of course, was just being able to spend time with our friends and put a smile on a few faces. And like we said, this was just a hint of what was around the corner. Because if you’ve ever been in Steamboat Springs on the 4th of July, you know that this town puts on a pretty big shindig.

Now, as fun as our Rodeo Kickoff Party was, it wouldn’t have been anything special if it wasn’t for the special people that helped us put it on. So if you wouldn’t mind we would like to mention the Yampa Valley Boys and the Routt County Fair Royalty. We like to talk about the Yampa Valley Boys a fair amount around here. They are a fantastic pair of entertainers who really know how to provide some genuine Western fun. Their music truly is the same music that the cowboys of the past sung and enjoyed out on the range. If you would like to find out more about them or see where they are playing next please visit their website: Yampa Valley Boys. We were also very honored to have the Routt County Fair Royalty in attendance. These girls have a very busy schedule at various service events in the area. To have them bring their grace and charm to our little party was indeed very wonderful. To find out more about what the Fair Royalty girls do and what they represent, please visit their website, and their Facebook page.

And from all of us at F.M. Light & Sons, thanks for a fantastic rodeo season!
