Here at F.M. Light and Sons, we have a distinguished visitor at the store. Former Vice President Dick Cheney was in town as the keynote speaker for the Steamboat Institute Freedom Conference. We were able to visit with him: He took time to take pictures with some of his fans as well. One thing we have to point out: Our VP has good taste in cowboy boots.
Dick Cheney is wearing ostrich leg cowboy boots from Lucchese that we presented to him.
We ordered them for him specially, and Lucchese was able to next day air them so they arrived in time for his visit. We think he looks fantastic in them!
Pictured in the photo are (left to right) Marcia Dillenbeck, Chris and Lindsay Dillenbeck (Lindsay was a staff member in VP Cheney’s Domestic Policy Office before she moved back to Steamboat), Ty (former owner) and Betty Lockhart, Richard Dillenbeck, Vice President Cheney, and Annabeth (who is the granddaughter of F.M. Light) and her husband Lloyd Lockhart (both of them are former owners).

It is so nice to see Vice President well and enjoying himself visiting with nice folks like all of you. I visit your store every time we come to Steamboat to ski. What a great place (Steamboat and your store)!
