When F.M. Light and his family moved to Steamboat Springs and opened the store in 1905, there were no railroads or sidewalks and the mail was sporadic. Well, the railroads eventually came, sidewalks were paved and the mail improved. In fact, F.M. Light & Sons has seen many changes throughout its hundred years. Now F.M. Light & Sons can be found on the Internet and the mail has improved even further with the introduction of e-mail.
