Hello Ruth! So sorry to not respond until now! The name of the store down the street is Bushwackers. And, you are correct - Michelle is the buyer! Colorado is an amazing place...maybe you'll just need to come back and visit! Especially since you have such history here. :-)

What is the name of the shop owned by F M Light that is just a few stores east? Michelle was a buyer and bought my silk scarves to sell in their store... She was married to Erna's son... Erna was a nice lady from Frankfurt Germany and use to come and visit at Mountain Manor when I lived there??
I miss SS and the nice air.... I taught at the CMC college for two years and left to live near my 2 daughters and grandchildren...
IN Minnesota.... and it is nothing like Colorado....
My parents took me to colorado from IN in 1949 for the first time... I had a great uncle and great aunt that owned a ranch in Oak Creek area - way back in time...

Miss my friends and esp the Artists Groups there....ruth conner

Thank you so much for the feedback, and the blog post! That "marketing genius" was my great grandfather, C.W. Light. We get so many comments on the signs - one family turned back to visit us after seeing the sign, "if you missed F.M. Light & Sons, turn back." Have you read my grandmother, Annabeth Light's book about the Light family, and the store?
